if gmails source code is not its value what is it? I'm pretty sure gmails ability to search and functionality are what make it stand out which is easily replicable by taking the source code. If the source code isn't valuable, you're saying it's the brand that's valuable because without the actual product the only thing left is the gmail brand.
That's about as open and shut as it gets as to why we're in a bubble.
As for the citations -- http://lmgtfy.com/?q=effects+of+growing+up+without+a+mother
When you have a child, you make a choice that you will help raise it. You are responsible for another life and that IS your job. When you decide that you want to be responsible for another life but then make choices that directly contradict that like not being around for the majority of the day, you hurt the child's upbringing.
No matter what your reasons are, a child misses out on the growing experience that nature and evolution have designed. The reasons behind that decision may be unavoidable and I don't see the world in black and white but if you want to be a parent you should act like a parent to the best of your ability.
There is no way to balance the two, you either raise a kid right or you half ass it. You can't half ass a career if you intend to go anywhere and you sure as hell can't half ass raising a kid.
Music and programming are creative tasks that require you to think of new ways to solve problems or express yourself. Math is a system of calculation.
It's no surprise that most open source software is clunky and hard to use whereas closed products always have that visual polish.
This is just the first step.
