Sure for native GUIs yes, but this was already something browsers supported & these apps just steam-rolled their 'keep 'em hooked & on platform' plan....I just lose patience when there's no slider on most doom-scroll apps either. Like c'mon....thankfully reddit still has it
Apps like Instagram/Pintrest have just made the user feel blunt when they can't even select a snippet of text in the app, following hyperlinks in a comment...or even download media by right-clicking on the web-browser
Imagine Torvalds saying the same in the context of linux- 'to mitigate misuse of this technology, we limit the audio history prompts to a limited set of Suno-provided...'
Hardly had any effect, there was this one weird pile of stuff in someone's room, but you could never really identify any single item there....this was around the time DeepDream was gaining traction
When I was a kid I had seen on Discovery/NatGeo a microwave based crowd control device, which had precise control over the area over coverage such that out of 3 people standing side by side it would only affect the one in the middle as needed. It would just heat up the water in your body & you would be forced to flee.....
WhatsApp took half a decade to get dark theme, voting implemented. And they still don't have pinning messages possible. Or fast switching between chats....
The issue they have is primarily due to SDR functionality similar to HackRF, oppressive governments do not want their citizens to have unfettered internet access using satellite internet or be able to exploit weakly secured or conversely use highly secure communications
The audacity of such governments to stifle research & innovation is just atrocious, can you imagine how censored & sterile the global communication networks would have been if it were up to the governments in the 90s to decide what can & cannot be used.....
I'd rather stick with 2X perf, 15+hrs of battery life, better trackpad, keyboard, webcam at not so different price point after all the upgrades OP did..
Insecure managers realising that peeping over shoulders metaphorically was half of their work & now that once requirements are finalized & work gets delivered they're like we really dont need this middle management.....
Lol, could have just brushed this aside with a comment instead of outright censoring a globally available media. Like what do they expect, no Indian should ever watch it in India or something but it is fine if outside of India?
This is how freedom of speech dies, bit by bit......
If youtube/rights holders really do not want people finding out ways to archive free content then they should put it behind a paywall like netflix or other OTT apps, nothing to resolve here per se.
How I've wanted a container shop which builds what I have with stuff that is received by the container robots & assembled within for shipping it out in another country completely!
