Casperin··on Handling 1M websocket connections in Go
I recorded an example of what that looks like about a year ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZWMc2cXUAw -- I no longer work in Elixir, but this magic still kind of blows my mind.
Casperin··on None of my projects want to be SPAs
Some years ago, 3 of us picked React for a startup. I consider it the single biggest mistake in my career, but we picked it not for the reason you mention. We didn't think that far (I was perhaps a junior, but the others weren't). It was just a matter of picking the frontend framework that we liked the best (I think the options were between Backbone, Ember, AngularJS, React). In our minds we did pick the simple option.

Some may be aware, but certainly not everyone.

Issuu is (or was?)

Don't know if that's where op is going though :)

Wow, this couldn't be better place and timing for me. I can actually make it. I can't find anything about price. Is it free to attend? Would love to come.

I agree on the font-weight. Go for legibility first and beauty second. Personally I prefer 16px myriad pro.

Love it though! Will definitely use :)

Casperin··on Dutch parliament rejects ACTA, prohibits government to sign or ratify.
It's a bit scary that it is news worthy that some politicians stood up for the people.

Well done though :)

Casperin··on Ask HN: Your Development Environment
I do front-end stuff mostly. html, css, javascript, and some php, Django or RoR (depending on the team I work with).

I work on my Acer Aspire one (no, really), with an external monitor. I run Ubuntu (virtualbox for testing in ie). I do all of my coding in gedit or vim, and use Git for bigger projects.

Casperin··on Ask HN: Hacker Hobbies?
I used to do Capoeira too until I broke my wrist. My knees weren't too happy about it either.

Now I do climbing (no, it's not as hard on the wrists). As much as I enjoyed Capoeira, I have to say, that I enjoy the whole "me vs the wall" aspect - especially bouldering. I suppose it's because I'm an introvert. :)
