I just tried two pictures with VINs in them. Both of them were successfully parsed by Google Vision, but OCR.space just errored out. It was not an encouraging result.
Uber is trying to keep prices low by removing the driver in the medium term. Any driver-owned service is going to have a hard time competing with that. There are less than 10 years of human driven transportation in urban settings. Still time to make a living, but not a career.
I think he's talking about css modules. Postcss or something like that. Webpack can generate unique names for you when you use that loader. I think it's more about webpack for #3 than react.
I think its because there are tradeoffs for managing the complexity yourself. Using this same argument most abstractions which have performance overhead should be unacceptable. There are tradeoffs everywhere and I guess this is one that a lot of people have accepted.
