Only tangentially related, but I wonder what the expected battery lifetime drops to when you factor in crashes. You mention that the cells might last 500,000 miles but is that really relevant if you're likely to have your car totaled before 200,000?

Are there diminishing returns if you are a company working on a million mile battery since virtually no vehicles will make it that far?

I am speaking as someone who has had three cars totaled before 100,000 miles (none of which were my fault!)

The impressive card trick could would be the greatest of all time:

Have an audience member shuffle the deck to their hearts content, then place it on a table. Tell them what the top card is, then ask them to flip it to verify. Then proceed to do the same to _the entire deck_

I've always been quite skeptical of the fast-food for the simple reason that when I am strapped for cash I buy rice and beans. No processed or fast foods even come close to rice and beans on a dollar-per-calorie basis.

So called "food deserts" are a bit of a chicken and egg problem. Are the restaurants in your area a reflection of the eating habits of the people in that area, or a grand conspiracy to keep us unhealthy? I tend towards the former.

I am also skeptical that even in "food deserts" an enterprising individual can't acquire rice and beans.

Brusco_RF··on Snap launches its first drone
The device itself does not have a microphone. I imagine that you would use your phone's microphone if you wanted audio. Most drone-chasing shots use this method, a microphone on the subject is much better at capturing the sounds you actually want to hear.
