Bnjoroge··on Astral to Join OpenAI
This was pretty obvious to just about anyone tbh. FastAPI is probably next
Bnjoroge··on Astral to Join OpenAI
It was pretty obvious that some sort of acquisition was imminent. Astral is vc-funded and has to somehow generate returns for investors. An IPO is extremely unlikley in this market.
Bnjoroge··on Java 26 is here
Man I still have scars learning Java in college. Took the entire fun out of coding until I ended up learning C.
Bnjoroge··on Show HN: Lux – Drop-in Redis replacement in Rust. 5.6x faster, ~1MB Docker image
yeah a repo with only about 18 or so commits and about 3 days of commit history is definitely not vibecoded
Bnjoroge··on Meta acquires Moltbook
what are some usecases i should try?
Bnjoroge··on I built a programming language using Claude Code
Agree. I've been yearning for more insightful posts and there's just not alot of them out there these days
Bnjoroge··on I built a programming language using Claude Code
it's a valid question and one that everyone should be asking, unless ofcourse it's for fun which is what I believe this is.
Bnjoroge··on I built a programming language using Claude Code
Not to discount your experience, but I dont understand what's interesting about this. You could always build a programming language yourself, given enough time. Programming languages' constructs are well represented in the training dataset. I want someone to build something uniquely novel that's not actually in the dataset and i'll be impressed by CC.
Bnjoroge··on Code Review for Claude Code
eh works fine for me, much better than I expected.
Bnjoroge··on Code Review for Claude Code
agree on it potentially being a big market, just not sure it's big enough for multiple unicorn startups trying to justify their valuation. competing on price, especially when code review is the main bottleneck seems misguided imo
Bnjoroge··on Code Review for Claude Code
bitter lesson applied to platforms
Bnjoroge··on Code Review for Claude Code
what are the implications for the tens of code review platforms that have recently raised on sky high valuations?
Bnjoroge··on Bluesky CEO Jay Graber is stepping down
The vision of Bluesky isnt compatible with it existing in a capitalistic society.
Bnjoroge··on FreeBSD Capsicum vs. Linux Seccomp Process Sandboxing
It's pretty obvious. Lots of LLM signs. Short sentences that keep repeating the same idea. It's not x, it's this. In fact, the entire blog seems to be LLM-generated.
Bnjoroge··on Clud – super light-weight tool to turn natural language to terminal commands
very cool, and like how minimal it is.
Bnjoroge··on Building secure, scalable agent sandbox infrastructure
maybe the usecase that makes unikernels alot more mainstream. Always found them intriguing
Bnjoroge··on This time is different
do you understand every line of code you churn out?
Bnjoroge··on We are changing our developer productivity experiment design
never been a better time to be a swe who doesnt or significantly limits the use of AI agents
Bnjoroge··on Hacker News.love – 22 projects Hacker News didn't love
Always incredibly to see the confidence with which they say these things too.
Bnjoroge··on Hacker News.love – 22 projects Hacker News didn't love
yeah I'm sure it wasnt a massive money generator for the folks who invested in their pre-seed round.
Bnjoroge··on The Software Development Lifecycle Is Dead
Most, if not the entire article reads to me as AI-generated which just makes me uninterested in reading further.
Bnjoroge··on Gemini 3.1 Pro
Agree, even through gemini cli, gemini 3 has just been underwhelming. You can clearly tell, the agentic harness/capability wasnt native to the model at all. Just patched on it
Bnjoroge··on Gemini 3.1 Pro
Agree with this except that spark is good or worth it. Absolutely not for $200, it's a step or two below opus 4.6 for actual reasoning.
Bnjoroge··on The only moat left is money?
Eh, there's some truth it both. The truth is somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. Distribution absolutely matters, often times even more than the product. And vice versa
Bnjoroge··on The only moat left is money?
You cant. You can only focus on building your own product and making it durable and just much better
Bnjoroge··on Code Storage by the Pierre Computer Company
iirc like they pivoted from being a github replacement with their own vcs
Bnjoroge··on OpenAI has deleted the word 'safely' from its mission
Did anyone actually think their sole purpose as an org is anything but make money? Even anthropic isnt any different, and I am very skeptical even of orgs such as A12
Bnjoroge··on Anthropic raises $30B in Series G funding at $380B post-money valuation
Im not sure what you consider successful. They've been struggling to get market share vs azure, and the product isnt that good. lots of rough edges, and piss poor support
Bnjoroge··on Anthropic raises $30B in Series G funding at $380B post-money valuation
they did have a late start in terms of productionizing the models. It's definitely improved but there was a time where Gemini and the associated tools werent as good as claude/oai
Bnjoroge··on Ask HN: Why is everyone here so AI-hyped?
The human brain seeks novelty and excitement. It’s why new projects are always exciting, new companies to join etc. This obviously extends to most trends. Cloud, crypto, AI. Obviously, there’s some utility(debatably with crypto), but overall it’s moreso that new stuff is just more fun and interesting
