AshWolfy··on Dr. Seuss books deemed offensive will be delisted from eBay
They didnt discontinue all his books, just a couple of older, obscure books, his classics will continue to be read and enjoyed
AshWolfy··on Dr. Seuss books deemed offensive will be delisted from eBay
Im going to picket my library until it lends me a copy on mein kampf /s
AshWolfy··on Dr. Seuss books deemed offensive will be delisted from eBay
this only applies in workplaces, to landlords, or providers of public accommodations, and this only applies to harassment, its like saying hate crime legislation makes it illegal to be bigoted

whenever something sounds this absurd, read past the headline and you usually find whats actually going on is a lot more reasonable

AshWolfy··on NIH will invest $1B to investigate 'long Covid'
there are plausible explanations in the article
AshWolfy··on NIH will invest $1B to investigate 'long Covid'
I think the underestimation was in long covid, not infections
AshWolfy··on Dr. Seuss books deemed offensive will be delisted from eBay
I dont think anyone who ever said this actually talked to university students
AshWolfy··on Dr. Seuss books deemed offensive will be delisted from eBay
This is not true, but im sure the headline you read sounded good
AshWolfy··on Google’s FLoC Is a Terrible Idea
The only reason i cant is because my work email is gmail
AshWolfy··on Google’s FLoC Is a Terrible Idea
Ads are a waste of time and resources
AshWolfy··on Google’s FLoC Is a Terrible Idea
Not having individually targeted ads doesnt mean no targeting it means less efficient targeting. There are also other avenues for promotion. There is no way to offset losing your privacy
AshWolfy··on Google’s FLoC Is a Terrible Idea
I have no nostalgia for the internet of old, the internet for me growing up with facebook, reddit, and newgrounds, i just dont want my privacy violated
AshWolfy··on How I cut GTA Online loading times by 70%
I dont think anyone likes excessive loading times or crunch. You might argue about the importance of optimization or the necessity of crunch, but i dont think anyone can argue this isnt a failure of management and communication
AshWolfy··on Users are losing out against Big Sur’s sealed System
I would double check if you turned it off. I did and there is no information there. I would much prefer if it was opt in, but that is a trade off im willing to make.
AshWolfy··on Users are losing out against Big Sur’s sealed System
Except you can turn that off
AshWolfy··on How I cut GTA Online loading times by 70%
Does it? Just because something is good or successful doesnt mean it was made well. Thats why we are seeing stories of crunch, failures of management compensated by extreme overwork.
AshWolfy··on The U.S. Air Force just admitted the F-35 stealth fighter has failed
Outside of events like these countries that adopted communism had higher standards of living while they didnt
AshWolfy··on The U.S. Air Force just admitted the F-35 stealth fighter has failed
Nice propaganda there, most post soviet countries still havent recovered. Hell i aint a communist but most of these countries did better under communism if only because the US wasnt there to leech off them
AshWolfy··on The U.S. Air Force just admitted the F-35 stealth fighter has failed
Except for lots of people cars are also necessary
AshWolfy··on The U.S. Air Force just admitted the F-35 stealth fighter has failed
how were those countries economies before communism?
AshWolfy··on Share of U.S. workers holding multiple jobs is rising
They have strong unions with sectoral bargaining
AshWolfy··on Share of U.S. workers holding multiple jobs is rising
Except it would increase demand and therefore profit
AshWolfy··on Share of U.S. workers holding multiple jobs is rising
or if those 10000 workers were in a union we could maintain productivity while putting workers on a more even playing field in negotiations
AshWolfy··on Bitcoin surpasses $50K as major companies jump into crypto
the bitcoin to sell is being mined, in hype driven markets restricted supply is no issue
AshWolfy··on Bitcoin surpasses $50K as major companies jump into crypto
Because they self evidently are, markets are so self evidently irrational the concept of "animal spirits" is one of the first thing we learned in econ 101, almost every post about the stock market will have someone saying the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent

unless you want to explain how what happened with gme reflected a rational valuation of the company

AshWolfy··on Bitcoin surpasses $50K as major companies jump into crypto
liquidity never mattered because its not a currency
AshWolfy··on Bitcoin surpasses $50K as major companies jump into crypto
If elon musk gave 2 shits about the environment he would promote public transit, not cars

he is a business man who only cares about money, and he uses effective marketing to make people like you buy in

AshWolfy··on Bitcoin surpasses $50K as major companies jump into crypto
Or maybe just markets are stupid and bitcoin is mostly driven by hype based speculators
AshWolfy··on 50 Years Ago, Sugar Industry Quietly Paid Scientists to Blame Fat (2016)
On that basis it is impossible to literally know anything. At a certain point to function as a human some basic reasoning and common sense needs to be applied.
AshWolfy··on 50 Years Ago, Sugar Industry Quietly Paid Scientists to Blame Fat (2016)
I can observe people getting sick with covid, i can observe 60 degree weather in the winter and weeks long heat waves, this isnt the news, or misremembering things
AshWolfy··on US raises ‘deep concerns’ over WHO report on Covid’s Wuhan origins
A theory is something that has been rigorously tested, this is speculation, and shaky speculation at best. Id be willing to bet sars and covid 19 have a similar level of genetic similarity

or other things like assuming someone is dead based on the fact that they dont have a picture online and dont wanna talk to press

ive seen youtube conspiracy videos more convincing
