But that may just be the conspiracy theorist in me.
So, we already know that it is
A. completely feasible for a smartphone to do this.
B. At least a subset of smartphones have always-on microphones.
Maybe not a remote control... But why would you put it in a remote anyways when everyone has a phone?
But just from a practical consumer perspective. I want to know more about what the tube and power cable connect to. Since this is designed to be a new novel "compact" espresso machine, I would have higher standards in that regard compared to more conventional machines.
And generally Show HN's posts are taken as a request for constructive criticism, which I think most are.
Specifically, those two tubes that fade into the darkness is just begging for an explanation.
Do you have a citation for this? My guess would be much closer to a couple of hours per frame.
I think dreams might be using splats? It's possible that something like splats combined with a form of OIT along with an art style that is tolerant to certain types of artifacts could use Analytical AA. I don't know the specifics on Dreams, but i'd be surprised if even they would be using AAA.
For font and 2D vector rendering it's likely, in fact afaik, some solutions, such as Slug already do.
But for 3d rendering I don't know of any solutions.
For an intuition, consider two triangles that intersect the same pixel.
Consider if say one has 20% coverage and the other 30%, does that pixel have 50% coverage, 30% by one, 20% by one and 10% by another, or any other conceivable mix? It's very difficult to say without selecting specific points and sampling directly.
Not saying it's great, but maybe it's not too dissimilar from some other systems?
If you were bisecting a rebase workflow and hit a block of commits that were unbuildable and unbootable close to your breakage, I'm unsure how you would progress.
But the case is likely better in the merge workflow, since in all likelihood you could mark the entire tree as good, and it could stop searching all ancestors. Which is far more likely to be correct in a merge workflow.
I feel like it's most likely that bisecting the linux kernel was in-fact the shotshow.
Edit: upon further research, it appears that git bisect is a commonly used and useful tool in the kernel, and the correct response to landing in that branch would be `git bisect skip` which should be far more informative to the algorithm then a skip in a linear history https://nathanchance.dev/posts/working-with-git-bisect/
I dream of this version of SF...
Given the size of the city, and amount of pedestrians and general walkability, I'm always amazed at how hard it is to get a pedestrian street here and there.... Even the peninsula is starting to get them in a way we seem to not be able to.
And honestly, there are far too many engineers that use rebase without understanding the underlying system which is dangerous in git. (Aside, I wish git would adopt hg’s stages)
I have been trying to preserve a game engine which has had an important following. But there has just been so many hands in the code, there is a lot of trepidation of the risk it could open the companies up too. Not sure how to progress from here.
I do a bunch of international travel, and the HD-LX seems ideal sized, but it seems like it doesn't do most of the useful functions?
UE is good, has BP, and it’s nice to be using pro tools from an empowerment perspective. I’d maybe pick a starter game to start from rather then from scratch…
Also, about Lua, It’s not so far off from JavaScript (pre classes) just tables instead of objects, and you have to construct prototypal inheritance from more low-level metatable methods. But after you get past the higher level quirks/syntax you should feel right at home.
FWIW, I started modding UE1 games at about 12. Starting from something was nice, but it was otherwise accessible enough. And BP just makes it more so.
I have a client, I'd like to migrate some stuff to cloudflare from AWS. But I'm just not going to do it unless I can migrate very incrementally.
And I can't migrate to their registrar without their DNS, and I can't migrate to their CDN without their DNS on my root-domain. Ugh! I really want to be able to give Cloudflare a try, but this really just isn't feasible.
Comments about the existence of 10x engoneers aside..
It's a wild take that we live in a world where all OOP frameworks are gone and besides a few people working on self-driving cars we're all working in React...
I think I have a few colleagues to notify.
