AndrewKemendo··on Teleoperated Humans
I use this reference all the time because it’s literally and I do mean literally the state of a significant portion of retail workers

This is how target workers live

AndrewKemendo··on If AI coding is lowering your code quality, you're not managing quality right
I hate typing and like reading

That seems to be the primary difference I’ve found between people who embrace gen code and those who dont

The ones who dont, seem to like the physical act of typing, and that tends to cluster with people who write software all day

AndrewKemendo··on AI-generated posters don’t have to be horrible
Biased evaluation is the default human behavior so it’s not saying as much as you think it is
AndrewKemendo··on I think you should almost never use AI to write
This has to be the most toxic topic ever
AndrewKemendo··on AI-generated posters don’t have to be horrible
Which is extremely socially acceptable currently and I don’t see that changing anytime soon
AndrewKemendo··on AI-generated posters don’t have to be horrible
In fact it’s only tracking the quality of the produced image

Every single person I’ve asked, and I’ve asked hundreds, say that knowing it was AI irrespective of anything else was enough to think it was bad.

There’s millions of genai images that people aren’t commenting on because they don’t know it’s AI.

AndrewKemendo··on US confirms for first time it has deployed space weapons
You have a propagandized version of human history

Life in a hunter gatherer tribe doesn’t look anything like your ignorance portrays

AndrewKemendo··on We tasted and ranked 17 different Mango varieties to find the best one
(2024)

No Kent or Carabao? I’m assuming the author is in India as Philippine mangoes are much smaller

I find Kent to be hit or miss depending on the season but carabao are almost universally either sour patch tart or like one bite perfect

Incidentally it was interesting watching how the mango sources in the US would all change right after the tarrifs and each Mango went from .98 to 1.98 over the last two years.

AndrewKemendo··on Why I'm still bearish on LLMs after Navier-Stokes
My exact question and afaict since I’m running models locally and can inspect and retrain etc..I assume I already have the raw form?
AndrewKemendo··on US confirms for first time it has deployed space weapons
Their greed turned a lush world into what you see today
AndrewKemendo··on AI 'kill switch' may need to be mandatory, Anthropic co-founder tells BBC
Trains have had dead man switches since the beginning

Should we ban trains?

AndrewKemendo··on US confirms for first time it has deployed space weapons
I feel resentment and contempt to every previous generation of humans and embarassment for my generation for sure

Every human on earth should be embarrassed at the state of the anthropocentric world

AndrewKemendo··on Pion, an agent designed to run any company autonomously
When your tech doesn’t catch on there’s usually a last ditch effort to “open source” it if nobody wants to buy the tech

It’s the tech company death rattle

AndrewKemendo··on The AI job market in 2026
> That is exactly what working with small and mid-size businesses looks like: find the process where AI pays off, build the agent or the integration, and get it to the people who will use it.

This is exactly right.

I’m making good side money from building and integrating “AI” with small business tools.

Custom CRMs and tracking solutions so they don’t have to buy salesforce etc…

Notably this doesn’t reliably work for juniors, which supports the article.

You need to already have experience making enterprise scale software, otherwise you’re going to miss some massive authentication or data exposure problem.

I anticipate the return of the software consulting company like initech, but instead of having Tom and Milton and Samir and Peter etc…, you only have Lumburgh and Michael Bolton.

AndrewKemendo··on Inverse Kinematics and Foot Locking
Yes that’s my setup. I’ll switch to safari thanks!

Thanks for confirming I’m not crazy

AndrewKemendo··on There Is No AI (It's Just People) with Jaron Lanier
Human made wildfires are the primary source of uncontrolled burns in the US and cost billions a year in damage.

The people who start them have no business starting or running a fire and they will throw their hands up and state their incompetence as though acknowledging it is penance or justice.

AndrewKemendo··on Inverse Kinematics and Foot Locking
I really want to read this article but the videos keep hijacking the screen (on mobile web)

FYI in case the author sees this

AndrewKemendo··on A misalignment of AI in mathematics
I got Sherlocked hard and it’s one of those things that when you realize it’s happening there’s nothing you can do you just gotta sit back and take it
AndrewKemendo··on OpenAI’s Navier-Stokes release included a Lean 4 formal proof
People are exhausted from being told/shown the thing they thought was special or unique or could make them relevant, is another mechanical puzzle that can be solved without joy.

I don’t see that doing anything but intensifying in the short term

AndrewKemendo··on I resigned from Anthropic today
Is there an existing phrase for doing precisely what the OP said people do as a response :D
AndrewKemendo··on I resigned from Anthropic today
Depending on where you live could be considered an active apocalypse that is robots vs robots vs people in Ukraine and Gaza and Iran being live-streamed, and actively betted on.

Do you have a more totalizing definition of Apocalypse?

AndrewKemendo··on I resigned from Anthropic today
I’m curious what the downsides are of taking statements like these seriously.

There seems to be universal eye rolling that happens in each and every one of these cases, and it comes down to usually one reason:

“If they really believed it they would be whistleblowing etc..”

Completely forgetting that working at Los Alamos was basically the highlight of your life if you were a physicist in 1940. It’s no different here

If you, like me, have spent your whole life working towards human level AI you can want to see it realized while also having active reservations.

Most people however don’t behave based on some deep clarity of vision and conviction - there’s a murkier future in their mind and as a result “keep their head down and hope someone has it under control.”

AndrewKemendo··on Ponytail: Lazy Senior Engineer Skill
I just realized that I now have long hair and sometimes wear a ponytail and have been a sr em and sr sde

I guess it does happen to everyone cause most (not all) seniors I know have had long hair at some point

AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Agreed, the human biological system likely needs radical augmentation in order to actually realize such a system

The median cortical volume fails beyond dunbars number, so some kind of compensation is needed

AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
“I need the world to comfort my fears”

You’re correct. A society filled with people with this view can’t work

AndrewKemendo··on A/I shuts down
Love these people and what a powerful message

If anyone from A/I is reading this know you always have a place to stay/eat if you need it

AndrewKemendo··on Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
Indeed and the data is worth much much more if it is tied to a biometric.

And if you assume that in the future there will be crypto banks globally then you want to be that final authority layer between the real and the computer world

AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Sounds like you’ve got your world model rock solid
AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Doesn’t sound very much like a healthy family to me
AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Sounds like an unhealthy person and situation such that 12 hours of labor is mandatory

Step one would be to help them get into a situation where that wasn’t true
