Andre_Wanglin··on American society increasingly mistakes intelligence for human worth (2016)
And are these attributes more prevalent among the bright or the dim?
Andre_Wanglin··on Three Charged in Fatal Kansas ‘Swatting’ Attack
The killer was not charged.
Andre_Wanglin··on Judge Rules Trump Can’t Block People on Twitter
This comment affirms my adjudication.
Andre_Wanglin··on Why Do Americans Stay When Their Town Has No Future?
Yeah, I have a six bedroom four bath house because of the kids. Bought it for cash. I shudder to think what that would cost in SF.
Andre_Wanglin··on American society increasingly mistakes intelligence for human worth (2016)
What else is there?
Andre_Wanglin··on Why Do Americans Stay When Their Town Has No Future?
I'm a cowboy. Hence the hustle. Even if I passed a corporate sniff test, could I put away 60% or more of my income every year? And why would I want to live in Atlanta or someplace like it? I hate commuting. That's a major reason I work from home in a small city and take whatever remote gigs I can wrangle.
Andre_Wanglin··on Why Do Americans Stay When Their Town Has No Future?
I can leave cheaply, hustle remotely, and use my (technically - thanks, Solo 401K!) low AGI to go on Obamacare. Why should I get a "career" in a major city and live hand to mouth while never being able to afford real property?
Andre_Wanglin··on Why Do Americans Stay When Their Town Has No Future?
He wrote in headline style as his comment is a "translation" of TFA headline.
Andre_Wanglin··on Judge Rules Trump Can’t Block People on Twitter
How is logging out of Twitter a workaround? The blocking doesn't prevent anyone from reading the communications anymore than not being allowed into the Brady Room prevents anyone from seeing White House press conferences.
Andre_Wanglin··on Judge Rules Trump Can’t Block People on Twitter
If you truly believe having to log out to read a tweet is akin to giving up your passport, you are insane.
Andre_Wanglin··on Associations of egg consumption with cardiovascular disease
Swap inversely with negatively. How does that change anything?
Andre_Wanglin··on The Average Age and Years Served of Members of US Congress Every Year Since 1789
Behold the development of a permanent ruling class, complete with hereditary dynasties.
Andre_Wanglin··on Philip Roth has died
You don't think the outcome of world-historic events influences a society's honestly held views of historical figures? That seems such a bizarre view and difficult to defend when the events themselves almost pale in comparison to the narratives that follow them and persist for decades, if not centuries, afterward.
Andre_Wanglin··on Philip Roth has died
Since when is a two sentence reply to a commenter's musing on the "shades of grey" involved in historical understanding a political rant or unsubstantive? If you don't like a comment, just say you don't like it and to stop that (we all understand the implied 'or else!') instead of pretending to be a dispassionate moderator simply enforcing the rules.
Andre_Wanglin··on Associations of egg consumption with cardiovascular disease
The study clearly claims that eating eggs is inversely correlated with CVD/IHD. How does that not bear on their healthiness?
Andre_Wanglin··on Judge Rules Trump Can’t Block People on Twitter
You are being downvoted because you are wrong. Blocked users can log out and read to their hearts' content.
Andre_Wanglin··on Judge Rules Trump Can’t Block People on Twitter
Now let her enforce it.
Andre_Wanglin··on Associations of egg consumption with cardiovascular disease
Your assertion is contradicted by the study here. Could it be that your assumptions are wrong?
Andre_Wanglin··on Philip Roth has died
You might like My Life as A Man. Read some online reviews first, though. Especially the angry ones. If those give you a laugh, you should definitely read it.
Andre_Wanglin··on Philip Roth has died
It is of no interest to you how some tyrants come to be reviled while others are lionized?
Andre_Wanglin··on FBI repeatedly overstated encryption threat figures to Congress, public
If by "impossible" you mean they have to buy a GreyKey.[0]

Andre_Wanglin··on Germany Acts to Tame Facebook, Learning from Its Own History of Hate
That sounds like a great way to protect those who commit acts worthy of hate from any public remonstration.

It means the writer is ignorant of the meaning of the phrase he employed.

Andre_Wanglin··on Fears of Larger Contagion as Ebola Spreads to Major Congo City
What is the benefit of physical presence in an area where there is an outbreak of a highly contagious disease? How will CDC employees "monitor" citizens of other countries? Please explain the mechanism by which this is supposed to work.

I do not see any evidence that Swine Flu started in China nor that ineffective monitoring is what led to its spread.[0][1] How would a problem like China fudging their numbers have been ameliorated by the presence of CDC employees? Why would China have allowed them in? Even if they did, would they have allowed them to work? If we can't trust foreign partners, we simply can't trust them and I fail to see any case where the problem of unreliable foreign partners can be fixed by the physical presence of CDC employees.

>spend Your Tax Dollars treating patients - that’s something that the US doesn’t even do in America.

Medicare and Medicaid alone accounted for $1.237 trillion of My Tax Dollar spending in 2016, which accounted for 37% of National Healthcare Expenditures.[2] That same year, ACA tax credits accounted for another $100 billion[3], the VA $166.9 billion[4], and TriCare (healthcare for milfare recipients) is usually another $50 billion. This notion that spending on healthcare is something the government "doesn't even do in America" is one of biggest and strangest (because of the ease with which it is refuted) whoppers regularly promulgated by leftist propagandists.

I like how you completely ignored my question and instead used it as a prompt to soapbox. Have you considered a career in politics? Public relations?
Andre_Wanglin··on Fears of Larger Contagion as Ebola Spreads to Major Congo City
Are the disease control agencies of every other nation expected to physically monitor every such outbreak?
Andre_Wanglin··on US Births Dip to 30-yr Low; Fertility Rate Sinks Further Below Replacement Level
It is interesting that you listed a number of peoples who have at various times been subjected to genocide because of their initial accommodation of outside populations in your rebuttal of my affirmation that Japan refusing to compromise its stance on immigration is vital to its survival as a cohesive and distinct nation.

>you use it or you lose it

Please explain in direct language the point your deployment of this aphorism was intended to convey as I find it wholly inapplicable.
