ActionHank··on The turbulent AI era is here
Please, don't ask logical questions.

Everything looks the same when AI is doing the work

I heard he likes to work with professionals in his private life too.
ActionHank··on The turbulent AI era is here
It is overhyped.

It's powerful, and very useful in specific situations.

It's not the second coming of jesus christ.

Better than saying bubble, can't say bubble, that implies that people will lose their money because of lies rather than because the market just crashed.
ActionHank··on The turbulent AI era is here
Man you are a real defender of the honour the wealthy elite.

Honestly a lot of those decreases are also because companies are trying to wait and see as much as possible to see if there is any truth to the conjecture.

P.S. remember my guy Bill didn't write a nice blog post about any of the allegations around his involvement with Epstein. So, you know, this is basically just marketing more than Bill's thoughts.

The funny thing is that the wealthy and powerful don't realise that a collapse of that scale means that every switches to professional guillotine builder over night.

There is no preparing for that.

I doubt we get there to be honest, they all have wealth and power because there are consumers with money. No more consumers, no more wealth and power.

ActionHank··on Nobody Wants Artisanal Code Anymore
People read blogs / content for gleaning some meaningful insight from original perspective, thought, or opinion.

If I wanted the thoughts of an LLM I have access to 10 different ones right now and I can ask to get instant answers and dig deeper where I need to.

Using AI for this sort of content is like sitting on the toilet backwards. No one is stopping you, but there is nothing gained, you're just doing it wrong and it's obvious to everyone.

Holy AI Batman
ActionHank··on Nobody Wants Artisanal Code Anymore
Honestly, no it’s not, it’s an echo from the echo chamber. There is no original thought here.

This is so stupid.

Can an accountant make a CRM in a weekend? Sure.

Will it be there next week? Maybe, probably not.

Building software was never, not even once, about writing code. That’s easy, literally anyone can do it.

It’s about building something that lasts beyond needing to be completely refactored.

ActionHank··on Canada will match US tariffs 'dollar for dollar' as trade talks break down
Australian beef is cheaper than Canadian beef, in Canada, the ocean is not the obstacle.
ActionHank··on Don't paste the AI, please
You should mention that if the personal input isn't required your boss should prioritize the work to add purely AI driven reviews and not waste valuable human time.

This either calls their bluff, or more likely, leads the system to break over time, so that your boss comes to understand that an LLM is not a human developer.

ActionHank··on Deutsche Bank becomes first foreign yuan clearing bank in Europe
That horse has already bolted and bought a whole new stable with blackjack and hookers in a foreign country.

The US is in for a hard couple decades ahead given they aren't leading innovation, manufacturing, finance, geopolitics, and even their military power is now in question.

At least they owned the libs.

ActionHank··on AMD acquires Taalas to boost inference performance by etching models in silicon
For sure, but I strongly doubt that we would need nearly as many.
ActionHank··on AMD acquires Taalas to boost inference performance by etching models in silicon
Big if it pans out.

Economic and financial ripple effects would be huge aside from the obvious:

- reduction in electricity usage

- OpenAI / Anthropic are dead in the water unless they start to license their models to fabs.

- Every single one of those GPUs that all of those massive data centers contain become paperweights.

ActionHank··on France is banning unsolicited telemarketing calls starting next week
It's the year 2026, I refuse to believe that phone companies cannot figure out who is a scammer and who is not.

ActionHank··on The Warp Agent CLI
No guy, this is the one, this is the coding agent that everyone is going to use now, instead of the one that is in the editor or part of their existing ai providers offering.
ActionHank··on Microsoft raises Xbox prices by up to 43%
It’s because of the idiocy of p&l tracking. The hardware, store, and games all need to be independently profitable.

Once they are, they all need to be more and more profitable.

Finally when it’s no longer profitable fire half the people and strip it for parts.

They’re already dead, they just don’t know it yet.

ActionHank··on Karpathy’s Pelican
I feel like we are going to look back on this era of llm usage like we do at the period of time when we thought radiation was magic.

Consuming radium and using uranium glass, that’s what we’re doing.

ActionHank··on Handbook.md shows that long policy documents do not reliably govern agents
That's a great comparison, human vs ai on a wall of text.

The problem is that it doesn't fit the sales pitch of LLMs and agents - humanlike or better, repeatably, 24/7, for a fraction of the price, you just need to make sure that you give it all the rules.

Unfortunately we can't really have a meaningful conversation until the money vampires have left so we will need to reschedule this until after the bubble.
