I love this approach. What is your current role that allows you to do that?

StayFocusd is a popular Chrome extension (500k+ users) to block distracting websites, users got the message that a company Sensor Tower is the new owner. There is also a new privacy statement [0] in which the new owner announces to collect a lot of "anonymized" data.

Judging on the reviews this has already lead to some users uninstalling the extension and giving bad reviews.

Last night I happened to watch a 'philosophical video' called "How to Be a Happy Loser | A Guide for Modern Day Untouchables" [0] that turned about pretty interesting. One of the things it discusses is that sometimes the situation you're in is partly due to bad luck. So although it's good to take some responsibility for your life, it's not really fair to blame yourself for all of it. There are a lot of other interesting video's on the channel, I would definitively check a couple of them out.

Keep in mind that one thing you have is persistence (you keep trying everyday, and you tried exercising many times).

What I really liked in the early days is that there was more interaction with the host, because you often rented a room in their place or a part of the appartment, while they were still living there. Lot's of interesting conversation. Nowadays it's just business for a lot of hosts, they don't even bother welcoming you and put the key in a keysafe.

Not OP, but the main reason for me to use adblockers is not to prevent tracking, but to block ads. This alone makes websites load significantly faster and it sometimes prevents dozens of annoying ads per webpage.

Let's say somebody shows you a picture of a house for a couple of minutes and then takes it away, is there no way for you to recollect and reproduce anything that was on that picture (visually)?

I can imagine that something like this happened: 1. Based on the disclosure, usage of multiple sessions was marked as possible fraudulent activity 2. When a new signal for fraudulent activity is added, accounts and transaction in the past are checked as well 3. OP's account comes up as fraudulent activities (ofcourse it does, he's the one who found it) 4. Nobody at Chase takes the effort to see what exactly happened here and that this account (or at least the specific transaction) should be excluded from positive results

There are 'smart alarm clocks' available, but they are usually not cheap and you might not want the smart function at all.

I use an old Android phone as an alarm clock, I nearly uninstalled all other apps and it's on airplane mode most of the time to save battery. Works like a charm.

For people not able (or willing) to run the demo themselves, it can also be seen on YouTube in a 3 minute clip [0]. It keeps amazing me how much people can accomplish with less than a KB of code.

Looks interesting! Would you also recommend it to other roles in the tech industry, such as business analysts or product owners? I can imagine a lot of the topics your book covers also apply to a broader part of the job market.

I would say the Microsoft Office software has definitely gotten better over the years. This applies to the user interface, but also usability and performance. I think they did a great job over the last 25 years improving the software, without making it complicated. annoying or sluggish.
