Readability of the code makes a lot of it's quality. A working code that is not maintainable will be refactored. A non working cofe that is maintainable will be fixed.
There is not a lot you can do to make your python code as good in terms of reliability or clarity of intent. I'm sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with it, but frankly speaking, I cannot look at python code anymore because of the inherent "hidden" work that it creates, variables being passed trough without much care for their exact meaning, hidden "bugs" that make the overall job way more annoying to debug.
Python is like that person that tells you everything is fine but is mostly wrong and won't even tell about that. Whereas Rust will just straight up tell you what's wrong in the draft.
I prefer the honesty and the little additional overhead work to getting lost in debugs for weeks bc some person has inputed the wrong shape for some vals or whatnot.
The peace of mind is saving me a ton on maintenance as well. (project is a 2years on with distributed python pipeline with a bunch of IA processing - switching up to rust was not the easiest thing to do considering some parts had to stay in python because of code ownership being someone's else - the stack is a rust/python stack now with some parts being left out in python depending on the actual needs of update)
I understand very well that some people do not want to code in rust, specifically because they might not have the time or the will to do so. But objectively these people do not have to define the pipeline execution except for the actual order of execution, nor do they need to maintain every part of the code because it's just not their job.
Now if you are to compare the exact benefits of rust vs python for a company, the server pricing will just speak itself and the choice will be made depending on the cost of production, the lifetime of the code, and the actual benefits.
If I was to do some API today, I'd 50000% go for rust and I DO think of python as the `no-coder coder` thing. I initially learned C, switched up to Python for jobs, and the code quality of python is just downright bad. It does not push me in the right direction AT ALL.
The fact that we used a scripting language with no typing for tools that need any kind of guarantee for years does not mean it's the best way to do it.
Also to answer the problem concerning `rust` dev's being non-existant on the market, and no job being open is really simple : even tough rust has 10 years on the developer market on this is really young and need to learn.
You need 3 years of practice to get 3 years of experience with rust. There is no way around that. And there is just not enough experienced people with this language yet to make it a shift. I'm not saying there is none, i'm saying it's not yet democratized.
I don't have a problem with you using this with a Camera and the real world or your creations ; but I do have a problem when people are able to use someone's work and use these blend and call them original.
It's just as I would have taken a 3d model static mesh, apply some blend on it and call it my own.
No it's f* not.
On the other hand there are options that allow users to force the `follow` to see user's posts. Which would re-allow verification from user's perspective.
This would also create a tool to cast target people to oblivion.
The real question is to ask what is the real problem. I understand that an online places can be gritty because of incivilities, but a dogme is much more scarier to me than an online idiot.
It seems obvious there is a direct link between environment and behavior, but what he started doing was like "programming the environment" in order to trigger behavior changes.
Why would we litter if the trashcan is nearby ? Why would we go out of our way with cables if power-socket is on every table ?
The same way I wonder if we cannot "program" the environment for kids, in a way that allows us to let them get bored out, but in such a situation that is not dangerous but also productively interesting for the kids.
It is not the same to get bored out outside nearby a train track or in the industrial area, than in a somewhat controlled area ?
What do we want to expose them to ? We already know it might want to try crazy stuff ; but I guess we can reduce the danger factors and increase area for more interesting activities ? Also, this is all linked to age and I'm not sure we can make generic rules.
Growing up in a farm is much different than growing up in the streets, and ultimately, my parents and I think a lot of parents, decide to live where kids are safe to grow with somewhat nice activities and people around them.
(Note that I also met a couple that completely cut themselves from the world and they really had to come back to society when the kid came to age, just because a kid requires social interactions with people it's age)
Now when he speaks of tones in terms of frequencies he isn't crazy at all. You could find out the tone of say the Hydrogen Line by diving it until you are capable of finding out which tone it could match (if you could) - it's funny cause I was kind of thinking of this discovering electromagnetic astronomy when this video came out
Now I had some fun laughing of the b* he could throw, but I'm not entirely sure everybody is as smart at they think they are when they make fun of him.
I'd also recomend you yo keep refactoring and improving your code ; if it isn't good, juste rewrite it ! document it, make sure you will not get lost
There is no docker and if you have to use it then it's a problem
Same might go for anything that needs NVIDIA
What I really like about asyncio is that there isn't much of deps or forced loop in order to get it working.
But I could be mislead and just not know how it is achieved in tornado, does gEvent burn the codebase as well ?
I'm building something else it seems, I'm trying to find app builders who want to focus on app-design and let their users store their data.
I'm made the link with Web 3.0 and Semantic web due to the ability i'm providing to my users of re-using their data between services.
I'm looking for app builders who want to focus on serverless features, i'm providing kind of a FireBase but where the user has total control.
Compatible with any storage engine, protocol or client.
If interested please reach me out at 6r17@proton.me
edit :
Concerning the semantic part it seems there were no real usage made except from promises of higher score,
I'm more interested in the (small ?) software market where data is not held hostage by the developer.
My feeling is that software grow old, but data should remain.
At the moment the web is like paintings glued with their frames.
I think it's mostly due to economical perspectives being reasonably promising due to the power laid by data collection
It doesn't have to be a fully built reddit alternative, but it should discuss how software is governed.
I think that's what it all lies to.
Software is not like other products. Websites are not like other products.
We've let them own us for almost 20 years now.
But we used them for more than that, in china they had post-walls in the street. We used to simply have community boards in real life.
And now those highroads are being jeopardized by companies in their own interest.
Shouldn't we ask ourselves, is it a benefit to humanity, if ours highway communication is being controlled by corporate entities ?
Can't we make an ONG which sole goal is to discuss and exchange on how those highways should be governed ?
This is a chance for humanity to grow but we are turning this into a pile of disaster instead of grouping up.
I do not think any individual at this point should be "in charge" of those high ways.
It should be an opportunity for all of us to join up, and build a governance framework of sort ; and from there create free tools which are not tied to economic narrow sight. Developers of such tools are all around the wrold, and centralization or decentralization is not the problem, it's either an achievement or a nice-to-have thing ; but in most cases, users don't care.
How do we group up, how do we discuss together like we do on HN, but we keep posting "some new alternative" every few week without realizing that if we group up in a simple github organization, we might be the most impactful workforce of the entire web ?
Do we really have to benefit from this ?
Is this all not above us ?
This comment inspired me because I was working on data-types at my company at the moment and I realized how static typing would have really benefited us.
So I made a library that does just that !

I hope this will help some people !
