@5l on twitter, aclloyds on github and bitbucket
(I say this as someone who loves HAML and uses it almost exclusively).
Two days later I got a call to say that it hadn't actually been stolen after all, but rather some officers on the night shift had picked it up themselves as felt it was "at risk of theft". It had been sitting in one of their interview rooms the whole time.
For what it's worth I have spent a great deal of time in the company of such people. Perhaps it's the case that the majority are simply living in a deluded drug-addled mist, and certainly a great many are hedonists first and last, and would be happy to admit it.
The thing is though, I see a lot of false enlightenment everywhere. There are whole swathes of people who would consider themselves spiritual for one reason or another but don't seem the least bit capable of critical thinking, open mindedness, introspection or subtlety. Ultimately, dogmatic ideology has stunted more people's personal development than drugs ever will. Not to mention the billions murdered over the centuries.
Yet in any community you will find deeply thoughtful individuals who have clearly gained and grown a great deal from their experiences and beliefs. For this reason I cannot bring myself to write any tool of potential enlightenment off, no matter what the behaviour of the average user, or if it comes in the form of scripture or white powder.
People are different
I, for example, don't believe in God. But I would never be so arrogant as to claim that people who do cannot reach a more complete understanding of themselves or their potential, or that this understanding is somehow more shallow than my perspective on the world. Even if I believe to my very core that my perspective is grounded in reality, and theirs in superstition.
This is what you are doing though, only you believe your perspective is grounded in spirituality (whatever that means) and theirs in materialism.
Yes, psychological dependence exists, but people become psychologically dependent on all kinds of things. That some of these things exist materially, doesn't mean the individual concerned is descending into materialistic nihilism. I don't understand why drugs get singled out as such a particular evil in this regard.
Main exception being the alternate buffer for which I have a quick shortcut - (<leader>, - <leader> being set to ,) The consequence is I usually have piles of buffers open at once.
Edit: sjs puts it better above. Having to think 'is this file already opened or not' and then using that information to determine the command you use to switch to it is rather annoying.
How do you know? That is what I asked, and you haven't answered me. You're making assertions about the best programmers in the world that you can't possibly back up. How do you know that some of them don't take LSD?
If I had to say, I guess correct would be the closest phonetic spelling to the Arabic, and as I understand that would be Gaddafi (in Libya) or Qaddafi (more generally). Or you could use what he has used himself in the past, which I have just discovered is: Gadhafi [0].
So without even nailing your colours to the mast over the correct definition of 'correct' in this context perhaps you might agree that Gadaffi is probably incorrect for any sensible definition of 'correct' in this context.
Or perhaps we could all agree to just call him 'that evil motherfucker from Libya'.

Anyway it's a fun idea and I'm just nit picking.
Edit: So it is, although the correct spelling is already taken.
If they can't deal with beginner level stuff, how well do you think they will do with much harder problems like XSS?
Edit: Actually I really want to drive this point home: you wouldn't write a TODO for any of these things because it would take you as long to write the TODO as it would take to fix them.
$5.40 => $9 is a pretty good deal then I'd say for bus to high-speed rail. OF COURSE it's gonna be more expensive, and I'm amazed that the price differential isn't even higher.
In such an investigation, your location history could be obtained from the mobile provider. Therefore this additional data could only possibly be of use to people who have no right to it in the first place.
So to phrase it in your language; yes, Apple's highest moral obligation is preventing the collection of unnecessary data about me, and indeed to tell me what it is collecting, why, and to whom it will be disclosed. In fact, where I live, all these principles are enshrined in a law called the Data Protection Act.
In the UK and the wider EU at least, Apple could be in a considerable amount of trouble for collecting this data.
Edit x2: grammar.

In the case of Photoshop you're going from $1300 up front to $50/$35 per month. That's a huge difference in affordability, so I'd be surprised if that wouldn't make a dent in piracy, particularly in small businesses.
