3327··on 'Dark fluid' with negative mass could dominate the universe
Then we are definitely in a simulation. That is the fabric that holds the universe together.
3327··on [dead]
If I understand correctly you are pitching gambling as investing? Instead of betting on the horse, we bet on the guy who bets non the horse and it magically becomes investing.
3327··on Beijing to Judge Every Resident Based on Behavior by End of 2020
you are not in the system. So you do not partake.

no lease, no credit card, no nothing. America gave it to the corporations. So what difference does it make if an all mighty corp does it or the gov't?

3327··on The Triple Jeopardy of a Chinese Math Prodigy
Good Article. Be careful who you work for. Be careful who your friends are.
3327··on A millionaire couple is threatening to create a magic mushroom monopoly
This stuff is prolific in the startup world of medicine. There is some shady stuff that happens. Glad Quartz did this report. There should be more discussion about these issues.
3327··on Stockholm says no to Apple 'town square' in its oldest park
excuse my French but I applaud the Swedes for not selling the soul of their city to corporate interests. End of the day apple is a company. It was nothing 20 years ago and is a trillion dollar company today - but so what? it is just another corporation. It doesn't give back and only takes. That is a misalignment of incentive structures. Apple does not care for the well being of Swedes. It cares about its shareholders. So excuse my French but Fahhk (lets see the deep learning profanity filter catch this!) Apple.

will these some day be weaponized? Oh yes they will... who could resist?

+add in thermal imaging, machine vision target acquisition, + armor + if wounded and cannot move go in to sentry mode. + Add some some firepower like a GAU 17/A

https://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/detail.asp?smallar...

there you go! drop 2 dozen of these puppies them to secure a perimeter with a VS-22 Osprey, Add 10 humans to control and support. You have a lethal fighting force.

It will happen. Sooner than anyone thinks.

3327··on Azure Data Explorer Technology 101
How can you tell Microsoft Marketing engine is starting a campaign? Just look at HN and you see all sorts of Microsoft posts from thought leaders they pay and recruit.

Examples: https://viu.ch/blog/2018/use-ai-to-keep-mice-out-of-the-hous...

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/microsoft-and-azul-sy...

thankfully they don't pay their marketing teams enough to really care - all they want is to hit the metric checkbox since Microsofts fiscal first quarter is now. They start strong and blow it early so they can chill later.

Nothing against them, just tired of seeing the same lame posts over and over by marketing teams. HN is not the place for it since the intention is to "pose" as original posts but its actually advertising.

Since it is effectively advertising HN should be paid - No?

I am interested to hear from the HN community - post author sorry I have no interest to hear from you since the typical response is some sort of claim/defense that its not advertising and something else etc.etc...

3327··on George Hotz Steps Down as Comma.ai CEO
Glad he did. Honestly nothing against him but had the most arrogant interview for business dev ever with him. reminded me of my 3rd grade teacher. They got a lot of learning to do at least there is some traction on his self-development.
3327··on Parents Break Teen Out of Mayo Clinic
They should definitely be taking Mayo to court. Absurd. But a good lesson and next time I check anyone into the hospital I will have legal counsel at hand.
3327··on China Begins to Question Whether It’s Ready for a Trade War
I am no Trump supporter I will start with that. I disagree with almost the all of his policies/actions.

However, China has been playing behind the US back for too long. Tech espionage, hacking, trade to a certain extent as well. China is not a developing economy as most think. It is already a superpower.

This is actually pre-emptive war. No weapons, but at some point the US had to act while the odds were still in its favor.

IF you played Civilization, any strategy game - then you know what I am talking about (or history books).

>> Loans - But China has tons us US debt!?!?

-Yes they do - do you know the best part about an IOU? you guessed it I - O - U. its paper debt. So better not upset me.

-Both nations are interlocked in a dance. US spends China Makes. But China also has stolen tons of tech. Nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles. Hacking.

-Talk to anyone in the armed forces. The sentiment is bad. There is more going on in the background than we all know.

-Talk to anyone over beers in the armed forces. They will say its long over do.

What do I think? who cares what I think.

cheers.

3327··on Turkey's 'Mathematics Village': Changing education one equation at a time
I went to this village and was a student of Ali Nesin. The village is intense and grad students go there to do full on set theory and group theory. Glad it is getting recognition.
3327··on Zuckerberg didn’t make any friends in Europe today
In that case compliance and regulation should be run similar to the way the SEC runs it. There is a threshold and if you report AMU over say 5mn you are subject to tier 1 compliance, then tier 2 and so on. follow me?
3327··on Should big tech companies like Facebook be broken up?
Yes - it has worked in the past (read about breakup of US monopolies and the impact to economy). It is the circle of life, similar to nature when a whale dies its meat lets many different forms of life prosper.
3327··on Analysts argue that over-automation is to blame for Tesla problems
wallstreet analysts don't know jack shit and come out with statements whenever the wind blows their way from the woodwork. Wallstreet is short Tesla, bonds are trading new lows... Goodluck - so basically you are shorting the guy that is landing fucking rockets back down on this planet? great thesis. I will take the other side of that bet.
3327··on Elon Musk Deletes Own, SpaceX and Tesla Facebook Pages After #deletefacebook
whats wrong with working at Domino's in the Hudson valley? I don't think you need to work at Domino's to think the man is a man of his word and a bias towards action.
3327··on Elon Musk Deletes Own, SpaceX and Tesla Facebook Pages After #deletefacebook
Basically - Musk Is the MAN!
3327··on Facebook failing, Zuckerberg and Sandberg absent: commentary
It may not make a good case for long term viability but CNBC is an investment outlet and it does beg the question is this the type of company that warrants a valuation of over 500 billion?

that implies massive clips of growth and strong leadership which it claims Facebook has demonstrated not to have with clear cut examples which I thought are simple but is worth considering...

3327··on Spotify Form F-1
Spotify stock is going to get crushed. you think the powerful investments banks of wall street will let someone go around them and not make an example of the stock? If everyone did this and gets encouragement from Spotify - its serious bucks that wall street looses. It may work in the future, but Bold Spotify and its shareholders will pay the price...

3327··on The Amazing Bureaucracy of Burning Man
TLDR: East coast academic goes to burning man without doing any research and discovers the concept of MOOP and that Burning Man is not a lawless Madmax event where anything goes.
3327··on I'm a creep. I'm sorry
Come on. All these guys who claim they are so smart and well rounded now all of a sudden are doing "I'm Sorry" posts as if they didn't know. WTF - of course they all were aware. Its easy acting all matter of fact and smart with everything else and then "I'm Sorry". Refer them to a public prosecutor because examples are needed for this to stop. We need some examples to be made.
3327··on The slow death of the electric guitar
rock n' roll will never die as Neil Young put it. Its just taking a break and going to hell to reorganize. Rock is here to stay and is out of fashion now but the cycle will come back and just like clothing fashion 20-30 years from now a new wave will happen.
