By the same argument, Lisp and Haskell would have been ruining more devs than anyone would have cared to admit. Instead, the opposite happened. I don't know if Go will make you a better programmer much like I don't know if C++ will either. I've done both. No improvement. I'm sure, though, that proponents will claim either does. Then one day they'll discover Lisp...
This talk about protocol-orientated programming in Swift at WWDC (https://developer.apple.com/videos/wwdc/2015/?id=408, you need a Mac to watch this) had a rather humorous take-down of OOP by a rather humorless old greybeard called Crusty.
Can anyone recommend an idiomatic go project to look through?
I too would like this! I'd love to see a series of progressively more complex programs done in a variety of languages, actually. When I was trying to learn AngularJS, everything I did felt like it was ugly and I could do it better if only I knew how. The docs didn't help because they're trash, and various blog posts showed simple examples that I didn't know were any better than my style anyway.
