I consider him to be a reputable source and the claims are very plausible. Out of touch management never know how out of touch they are.

"Denied", perhaps. "Debunked" goes a bit far for a comment that consists solely of the words, "It's not true".

Then someone asks what is true, and Ellen writes "I'm sorry, but I can't comment on an individual employee's situation."

I know this is much like watching E! entertainment, but wow reddit's management is hilariously bad.

I don't think it's bad. It's just not adapted to the kind of community it is managing.

I think the kind of "open" management recently seen with startups like buffer would really make things better if applied at reddit.

If it is true - it almost feels like a parody.

This s the best information we have so far, but it's confusing. There have been a bunch of video IAMAs before

maybe the porposed video IAMAs will be rampart-like "IAMA"s? that'd fit with the suggestion about going more commercial

Video AMAs are easier to sanitise. They ask for questions then give the 10 most upvoted to the guys to provide a video response. Of course the 10 most upvoted may not be easy softball questions so they can remove these and the guest never knows about them. Right now the guest knows the questions but can refuse to answer them but then it is apparent they are ignoring difficult questions. With a video AMA they get to distance themselves considerably from anything out of their comfort zone.

They were never very good though?

And at the end of the day right before the long 4th of July weekend. Out of touch is right...
