I don't think Amazon affiliate links are appropriate for posting to Hacker News. Does anyone else think it's ok to do that?

edit: Non-affiliate link: http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Ears-Isolating-Earphones-Micr...

I may have a link in there, but it's a legit post made from my heart. For what it's worth, here's a review I've done 3 years ago of the SuperFi 5, which is a step down from these: http://beerpla.net/2006/09/18/review-of-ultimate-ears-superf....

I've listened to TripleFi 10 too and they're even more amazing, if that was even possible.

Fatwallet has a discussion on these with a very green rating for those in doubt about the real hotness of this deal.

I'm not sure exactly how you can accidentally include an affiliate tag in a link. That and the rather over hyped title really do make it seem like this was rather deliberate. If I were you I'd either edit the link (if that's possible) or delete and repost.

I guess you should be given the benefit of the doubt this one time, but I really don't think that's acceptable behavior. Hopefully an editor will notice soon and change it.

I agree, and wish I'd noticed the affiliate link before I clicked. Now I'm afraid if I buy the things I'll be encouraging the affiliate spam.

Anyone know a certain way to wipe the affiliate-association from a future purchase? (I can clear cookies, but I was logged-in at click time, so they'll know my viewing history.)

affiliate links are valid only for 24 hours. So if you don't purchase anything in that 24 hr period, affiliate gets nothing.

I have a pair of these, bought about a year ago for ~ $170, from Amazon. Still a good deal though.

And you love them, of course, right? I listened to these a year ago and they blew my mind, even after having owned SuperFi 5 for 2 years before that.

They are pretty amazing, although the foam tips they came with wore down. Need to buy some replacement ones.

TripleFi 10vi also dropped to $99. It has a mic, so it's perfect for mobile phones.
