Ask HN: What JavaScript approach works best, coming from SWT or Swing?

If someone wanted to move from mostly SWT and Swing to the web, what's the best? There are dozens, AngularJS, DART, React, Vanilla, jQuery, jQyery Mobile, even raw DOM with plain JavaScript.
