Ask HN: Do users really want augmented reality?
I have the feeling augmented reality is currently nothing more than a gimmick that you can sell to some company to make them look modern or even a bit futuristic but the end user doesn't really want to download and use augmented reality apps on his/her mobile device.
This may(!) change with augmented reality glasses if there's a standard or a clear winner (maybe Microsoft HoloLens).
Are there any studies about how many users really want to see AR content on a leaflet or product catalog? I guess less than people who scan QR codes.
