Dave Goldberg Died After Falling from Treadmill

This is very sad regardless of how he died. It just goes to show that you always need to have your affairs in order. They were an extraordinarily wealthy family and will be just fine financially, but most people aren't and need to be prepared at all times. You just never know what will happen.
One of the things dementia destroys is your ability to swallow. Most demented people end up dying of pneumonia after getting some food in their lungs. That means one of most time consuming and simple parts of your body's day needs to be constantly supervised and aided, which means either your family giving up a huge part of their life to babysitting a horrible flesh golem, or paying an enormous amount of money for some sort of care worker.
Yes, I would MUCH rather leave my family after falling off a treadmill than dementia. I'd rather have a heart attack or brain aneurism or get sucked into a wood chipper in front of my whole family than mentally die of dementia and leave behind my body— burden almost beyond imagination— while destroying their memory of who I was.
It's good to be alive.
This guy was someone who promoted time at home to be part of the kids growing up, something most dads miss out on, still.
