Rippin off python

If we're going to start voting up 50 word talk abstracts, can we get to linking up insightful tweets next? :-)

i'm all for cross pollination.

i wish python would rip off ruby's fileutils library. the *nix function naming conventions are beautiful (e.g. rm, rm_r, rm_rf). python's mish-mash of os + shutil requires a deep dive into the docs to find the equivalent methods (os.remove, shutil.rmtree)

They already have ripped off Python to great success:

Ruby's Rack is an elegant refactoring of Python's baroque WSGI+WebOb+etc.

Ruby's Gem solves all of the bullshit that infects Python's distutils and setuptools

Now to just port them back...
