Sorry, but this is like posting jQuery. Who doesn't know about three.js?

https://hn.algolia.com/?query=threejs&sort=byPopularity&pref... (354 submissions with three.js in the title).

Who doesn't know about three.js?

A relevant xkcd about your reaction:

Yes, but the perceived Signal to Noise ratio for HN is dependent upon a consensus view.

If we start sharing and upvoting articles about "The Information Super-Highway," and "Programmable Computers," then the vast majority of us will think it's useless noise.

Consensus view doesn't need to be presented with condescension.

Who doesn't know about three.js?

People who aren't doing webgl work? People who have better things to do than investigate what the latest "foo.js" is just because it's in a Hacker News headline?

But they won't be looking here either, one would assume...

To be fair, if I was considering doing any kind of 3D work in JavaScript my first reaction would be to Google "3D JavaScript library".

It's a little unlikely that I'd see it posted here and say "wow, I just realised I need to do some 3D work".

three.js is btw the top result for the "3D JavaScript library" query.

Thank you for saying what I'm sure a lot of us feel.

I didn't. And surprisingly, jquery has apparently never been submitted to HN so I went ahead and did it:

The next step is submit HN to HN.

It technically already is:

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7018988

I didn't.

what is jQuery? :P

show HN: Javascript

hahaha

I didn't know about it until I read the thread about WebGL.

I have better things to do w/ my career than keep up on javascript. (then why am I posting on HN? am waiting for a dl to finish)

First time I've seen this. Really enjoyed some of the sample applications of it also, so thanks lisper.

This post looks like some kind of an experiment on HN.

48 upvotes, apparently the experiment is working

Coming soon, an original and addictive JavaScript 3D library: 2048.js

You mean this? https://github.com/gabrielecirulli/2048

Also FYI, a nifty R package that uses threejs http://bwlewis.github.io/rthreejs/

have to find a way to add D3 to that stack so that it becomes R3-D3.

troll?
