Ask HN: Recommend Purely Conceptual Mobile Web Design Book?
I expect I could get a huge boost in traffic were I to have a mobile-friendly site. However, as much as possible I would like to have the exact-same content for both mobile and desktop.
My site consists mostly of lengthy articles and essays. The longest is fifty pages in hardcopy form, but is broken down into about fifteen different HTML docs. Some of my articles are twenty pages, all in one HTML doc.
There are lots of books that explain how to use a CMS or a front- or back-end application framework to do what I need. That's not what I want at this point.
What I'm looking for is something purely conceptual, something that is mobile's answer to Jakob Nielsen's "Website Usability: 100 Homepages Deconstructed". It was that book that enabled my ex-wife to produce the basic template that I use for my desktop site.
There are lots of websites with tutorials; please - I need a dead-tree book. Like something that I can purchase in a bookstore, that I can read without the use of an eBook reader.
Thanks! -- Mike
