Not forgetting the stalwart JavE (http://www.jave.de/), although it seems unmaintained, and isn't non-destructive/object-based/whatever you want to call it.

I like Monodraw, and I know you're an indie developer, but the price seems bonkers for what it is, even at discount. If others pay it, though, I guess the price is right :)

You're absolutely right. Monodraw is tailored more at making diagrams but that's just the beginning. My long term plan is to make it the one-stop app to everything ASCII related.

Much like PabloDraw and PhotoShop, Both products are closed source, so I'm still looking.
