The headline should have called it a "treatment" rather than a "cure," but methadone is a legit treatment. Agreed that getting folks on suboxone would be even better, but from a public health perspective it's still preferable to switch heroin addicts to methadone because it's safer and - by being dispensed freely - can reduce drug-related crime.
