nothing is dying, and discussion always helps. Sometime all of us can have some kind of moments of discouragment, and need to fight against something just to hear other people tell us "don't worry, everything is going to be ok, you will make it"... or it's just a way to call for people attention. Sometime when we are really discouraged our request for help or attention comes out more as just a complain...
Also sometime the best funny things happen while discussing something too seriously. For example, at some point during the chat...:
