That workaround didn't work for me.

Auth from either / or /logout both come back with:

"Twitter is currently down for maintenance. We expect to be back shortly. For more information, check out Twitter Status. Thanks for your patience!"

I first noticed this when the mobile app (Android) notified me of an auth error.

Still no word on http://status.twitter.com/
