We seem to be heading on to a path where "Git" becomes synonymous with "GitHub".

Sorry if this is kinda gauche, but I think that ship has already sailed for the majority.

I'd love to have other feedback about that, I really don't feel it's true, at least in my working environment.

Does anybody else saw Git replacing GitHub in day to day conversation ?

No, but I regularly see GitHub replacing Git in "technical" forums.
