Can somebody expand on using a Chromebook + a service like Nitrous.io to do out-and-about coding as a second computer?

I worry about taking a mac pro to any given coffee shop or bar, just due to the chance of coffee spills, theft, and general wear & tear.

Does anybody use a chromebook for this kind of purpose?
