Feel free to mail jobs@dronedeploy.com if you're excited about controlling flying robots through the cloud.
The "view 3D model" bit in your demos doesn't give an error in browsers without WebGL, it just hangs. Might wanna fix that. :)
We'll wax nostalgic to our grandchildren about the days when we could look up and see a clear sky.
My understanding is you're going to get in trouble flying a drone anywhere. If you get caught is different but it just doesn't seem like a good idea at the moment.
*flying a drone _commercially_ anywhere.
Recreational flying is still restricted in terms of what you can overfly, height requirements, line of sight, etc.
Even for personal use if you're near people, in a national park or "near" an airport you're going to have trouble.
the FAA handed out a bunch of exemptions for film services companies recently. I posted it here and thought people would be all over it (given the general level of interest) but nobody noticed.
It should be a lot easier to legally do drone stuff in about a year. The FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, passed in early 2012 and signed by President Obama, requires the FAA to develop regulations to allow widespread use of civilian drones by 2015-09-30. I believe that it also required them to authorize certain uses before then to serve as experiments to help understand the issues in civilian drone use (although maybe it was something else that required that).
