Ask HN: How I avoid impending bank account doom?
I have a problem: My startup ran out of ramen+rent money... It can pay its own fixed bills (servers, weather service API, etc...) but nothing more.
The other founders had jobs before joining the startup, and returned to their jobs, but I was jobless, and in severe debt (that thankfully now is mostly paid!)
I am trying to get a job, and get freelance gigs, but I never had a freelance gig before, and the jobs that use my skills are not in my country (Brazil), and the jobs in my country that I can do are scarce and don't pay well, specially because our economy is tanking hard (national inflation of 6% for the past few years, and GDP growth averaging 1%, this year the government expects a growth of 0.7%, but several market specialists expects negative growth).
Right now what I am doing is keep working on my startup (our flagship product is ALMOST 100% done), and I am studying on coursera and whatnot skills that might be more relevant to my country, and I am applying in the most popular job site for all jobs I am barely qualified for.
But I already ran out of money and I am now living on selling BTC I bought when I had a normal job 4 years ago... that will not last long, so what I do? I don't want to get evicted (I live in a rented apartment), and cannot really expect my parents to help (the government defaulted their clients, that defaulted they in turn, and thus now they have some absolutely crazy debts, if Brazil had personal bankruptcy they probably would have used it already).
