Ask HN: Best way to integrate a U.S. and U.K. mobile
Let's say I spend 2/3rds of my time in the U.S. and a 1/3rd in the U.K. - work pays for both phones (within reason) i.e. they don't want $1k+ monthly bills.
I have both social and business contacts in both places that have my respective local numbers and I want to maintain a local number in each place, but don't want to resort to just having two phones with me at all times (1 of which would always be roaming).
At first blush a skype number would seem to be the way to go as I could have multiple (one US and one UK) and then all i would need to do is switch which phone my calls get forwarded to (but my understanding is that skype numbers can not receive sms) Google Voice does not allow you to have two numbers, and the dual sim products for iphone look a bit budget... any other thoughts?
