Microsoft Near Deal to Buy Minecraft

I hate to be facetious, but the "Is it April Fool's Day?" switch in my brain automatically clicked when I saw this headline...because it would be a great prank, partly because of how close the two proper nouns are in first-glance spelling.

But if this is reality, the "Huh?" switch is clicking...Not sure what to think, except it's unexpected on many levels...Mojang is already doing financially well (I thought)...Notch ripped on the FB/Oculus deal...and of course, why Microsoft (other than it being a big company willing to spend the money)...The deal seems like such a non sequitur to me that I'm kind of amused that it isn't Yahoo.

The selfish part in me wants this deal to be something that frees Notch/Mojang to work on an entirely different game...but hell, if they decided to retire on their own private islands, they deserve it.
