Is Triclosan really a problem if I wash my mouth with distilled water? As I understand it, Triclosan reacts with chloride.

Yes, it really is a problem. And using distilled water won't help as chloride ions are naturally in saliva (http://books.google.com/books?id=LKy0weDEFp8C&pg=PA601&lpg=P...).
