The most pernicious thing about Hibernate is the "caching feature" (read as "time-bomb") layer that doesn't write objects right away when modifying an object. So instead of immediately seeing changes in your database, they gradually creep in from other application instances as the write-timeout expires, slowly corrupting your data without any errors occurring.
