Its amazing they actually made the switch. I would not want to working at the helpdesk if my company switched to Linux!

Too bad I hate open office because that is my last dependency on Microsoft. I'll still take OS X for my daily computer over Linux any day.

Have you taken a look at LibreOffice[1]? It forked from OpenOffice a few years, and my understanding is that it is much more actively developed than OpenOffice.

Is this hate based on criteria that you can articulate or just a (no doubt strong) feeling?

LO serves my needs well, and the mathematical formula editor is less annoying than the one in MS Office 2010.
