Ask HN: taking intensive dev bootcamps

I'm toying with the idea of quitting my PR job to do a full-time web development bootcamp with the aim of getting a dev job at the end of it.

Mostly, these are 12-week Rails courses which aim to get you to an employable standard and place you in a job after the course. Examples include:

Does anyone have any experience of or thoughts on this way of learning to code?
