It confuses me as well. Either many more HNers than I'd expect have subscriptions to these sites, or they're being wrongly bumped to the front page by HN's algorithms.

Arrrgh! This is my pet peeve. There's no such thing as an "ongoing crisis". I wish people would stop misusing the word - "crisis" is rapidly becoming a meaningless jumble of syllables.
