Interesting piece of software; Really small app. definitely a good way to get your feet wet in the product business.

Congratulations on shipping!

I launched a beta of Pagesnap on HN a few months ago. Here's the previous discussion:

CLI version. https://github.com/paulhammond/webkit2png

This is a dupe of https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7305329. Please don't post stories that have already had a significant discussion on HN recently.

I've been in the beta trial of this, and it works pretty well.

A few thoughts: 1) It would be really great if I could schedule when the pagesnaps were taken 2) It'd be nice to be able to take snaps of only one div 3) Would be very cool if there was a URL that always had the most recent snap

Here's a competitor: http://url2png.com

I thought https://browsershots.org/ was the big one. I suspect there are many.

url2png is nice enough to point people looking for a free plan to a list of competitors, with some copy explaining their advantages. A very nice touch:

I like the concept, but you really need a "Try it First" option that lives outside the paywall. I am very hesitant to type in my credit card before I have any idea if the service works how I expect. 2 cents.

Great suggestion. A one-off form where you can plug in a URL and email address would be pretty easy to add.

Same, I always want to see a demo or example before signing up.

I added a few screenshots and examples to the homepage if you want to take another look.

A '30 day trial' could be most useful for getting customers signed up. It could also be useful for developers that have launched a new site and need to make sure it all looks good during the initial phase - they could 'abuse' the service, however, in so doing, they would spread by word of mouth the value of your product. Imaginably the service would be signed up to thereafter as it would be ingrained in as valued and required.

I also think there is utility in being able to send the screenshot to many people. For instance, an ecommerce website with sales scheduled for the weekend where the prices are supposed to change automatically. Here it would be useful for the person who puts the prices in, their micro-manager and their micro-manager's micro-manager to be cc'd in on the screenshots.

In this day and age the desktop view is not the be-all and end-all, for a premium the mobile view could be recorded too.

It seems terribly expensive, if I understand the pricing right.
