Ask HN: Which APIs to choose to track mobile events?

We are looking to aggregate and show ongoing & future events, conferences and meetups around mobile, front end & related topics. The idea is to show local events to users based on their geo location. Any suggestions on the APIs or the mashups of APIs we could start with?
