I was one of the backers on the original Kickstarter-like page, and did not pay for anything subsequently. I don't remember consenting to recurring billing. It might have been in the fine print, but I wouldn't usually ever expect joining a crowdfunding campaign to do that, since the Kickstarter model is for a one-time payment.
I appreciate the advance warning, but I'm not sure App.net should be doing this.
