for myself, "primary ...IDE" is much different than "primary text editor."

for text editing, i use a simple text editor. for development with integration with ant/gradle and debuggers i'll use an IDE. i assume you are polling about development, given the context of atom.io, but the phrasing of the question two different ways (in the title and the sub title) is little confusing.
