I suspect the jump from "Nazis might kill me" to "poor in America" was roughly the same jump as "poor in America to working in technology" and from "Yahoo! to founding my own company". The founding-my-own-company to sold-to-Facebook was probably the smallest actual jump in subjective quality of life.
