Agreed. Even with examples, I'm not handing over my email address. Email works best when it's treated as a tool for humans. My inbox is precious. If it's something sent in bulk, it should be a newsfeed.

Anything that has an Atom or RSS feed with individual entries. If I have to visit manually to get updates, I won't. If I have to receive it in my inbox, I won't.
