I wouldn't be surprised if it's true as well. For a minority group, Asian-Americans can be surprisingly racist.
Especially against each other. Nothing like telling your Korean friend how much you enjoy visiting Japan and watching Miyazaki and Juzo Itami's movies to stir up some good old-fashioned hatred.
