Not in the Netherlands. Here it'll be 08/07/09. I'm from California, and I'm having terrible trouble getting the hang of day/month/year, even though it makes so much more sense.
The only date format that makes sense is YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. Unfortunately it seems like it's only here in Sweden that it's gained ground... Come on, rest of world - catch up! :)
I'm a fan of YY/MM/DD, because it sorts in the right order
