Ask HN: Thoughts on subscription services?

I recently built a landing page for an idea I had: Salsa of the month or Salsa-as-a-Service ;)

The HN community loved (and hated) it. But definitely enough supporters to validate the idea.

I built a site @ HombreSalsa.com and it is super basic.

I was wondering how much the site’s aesthetic will turn you off as a potential customer? Salsa is a niche market, so understandably many of you will not be interested, but I’m more interested in your thoughts on subscription services and the site in general.
