This is the third time you post this link, stop spamming HN with your chrome extension...

Why so angry?

There's really no need to spam HN.

We don't enjoy HN being abused for such purpose.

Shame I have to put my Vine username and password into your site. That's a deal breaker and a major problem in that it alone pretty much guarantees that you'll be shut down, and/or sued (I'm guessing this is a Chrome extension specifically to make it difficult to shut down).

Simply create another account for Vine if you'd like. How else is it supposed to pull up your profile. And the extension is required to emulate the mobile application, modifying the request headers and creating client side requests so the access does not get throttled or noticed by Vine.

I'm not attacking you, just a friendly opinion. Vine needs to do this or make their API public so you and others can make clients for arbitrary platforms.

> Simply create another account for Vine if you'd like.

No one will do that.

Exactly my point.

Exactly your point? You didn't make any.

My point is you will be shut down and/or sued because you're doing something any platform vendor would object to (MITM auth creds) and taking deliberate steps to evade detection and any countermeasures.

There's no other way to engineer this, if all the requests were made server side with one account, you wouldn't be able to use any of the features that the mobile application offers which is the whole point of this extension. I understand what you're saying. But none of the information is stored anywhere, it is only used to login. You don't have to use it if you don't want to, and for people that are sceptical about using it with their regular credentials, they can simply create a new account and use that account just for the client. Multiple people are already using the client, nothing but positive reviews so far.

I think 10 minutes is too long for a video.

On the other hand is interesting, things used to be the other way around and now we have people making clients of mobile apps for the web/browser.

Haha, that is interesting I admit. The reason I created it is because I believed there was a need for it. It's a lot easier to browse Vine from VineClient since your resolution is much larger.

I don't understand how to login to this. I'm pretty sure with Vine for iOS/Android... I just use my Twitter login? That's not what this is asking for...

Use your Vine credentials. If you normally use Twitter to login to Vine it will not work. You will need to create a new account where you sign in using your e-mail.
