They need to have "Real Genius" on there somewhere. Symbolics is actually listed in the credits, presumably for the contrived simulations that were run.

Separate out the biopic & documentaries into a new list. They definitely have a different kind of appeal.

Jurassic Park has an awesome scene of epic hacking....

"It's a Unix system! I know this."

The book actually explained why she knew what she was doing.

The movie seemed more interested in product placement for SGI and Apple.

Jurassic Park may have been a bit silly with the Dennis Nedry "you didn't say the magic word" but at least it had some photogenic computers.

The CM-5 was a real beauty, certainly one of the more attractive supercomputers that ever was. (I think it was a Y/MP in the book which, while resplendent with a stately elegance, lacks the visceral blinkenlights of the Connection Machine.)

Also that weird Irix Motif-based file navigator thingy. Which I guess is cool, too.

Did Blade Runner have a hacking scene? I don't recall one.
